We are aware that many of our Township residents are concerned about the recent derailment in East Palestine and any possible after effects of the spill in relation to our geographic location. Attached is a map showing the locations of Pittsburgh, the water plant intake location near Sewickley, which supplies water to Findlay Twp, and the site of the derailment. Our intake location is a considerable distance UPSTREAM of the spill site, therefore any waterborne contaminants from the derailment site are being transported downstream away from our location. At this time, we see no danger to our residents, however, if conditions change we will be sure to issue notifications/warnings as necessary.
